Is there a button for just most recent? I'm seeing posts from 3 days ago, which I've already seen, but not anything from today.

Read the announcement. Also, making posts just randomly complaining about the timeline doesn't contribute to fixing anything and takes away my opportunity to tell that there's tons of resources now to explain how everything works (Top of the page explains the smart timeline, announcements explain the new timeline, Help Center explains the timeline). New posts aren't being hidden from you. People aren't making new posts. People aren't following each other. So they're not seeing each others posts when they do post unless it's posted in a group that you're a part of. People are posting on their timeline with no followers instead of posting in groups where everyone in the group can see the posts. Creating the opportunity to gain followers.

I post in Community. Unless it’s a meme or group specific, then I post there. Just want to see what was recently posted. Scroll, read, like, watch the video, whatever was posted. But I still do like the falling leaves!

The system isn't trying to show you your own posts. It shows you stuff you haven't seen thats posted by people you follow and groups you're in. But once you see that new post it then goes back to showing you posts you haven't seen from any time period. So that's why you're seeing posts from a couple weeks ago. Its because it thinks you haven't seen them because that was before the update. So you are seeing new posts. But if you don't follow the people posting or they don't post in a group that your a part of then its going to feel like you're not seeing any new posts.
