· 3 weeks agoNeighborhood kids playing together know who the freak(s) is. This is missing... kids playing outside. They're all on the phones now... I knew at 5 to stay away from certain houses in the neighborhood. Because we all played outside and together. Kids know....

· 3 weeks agoThe last day of 2nd grade, my parents told me I needed to walk to a new house. They gave me directions, and I walked to my new house. Knocked on the door and my Mom answered. No parent pick up, just hey.. this is where you need to walk to. They moved in one day. It was an old, big house. I got my own room!!! Whooohooo!!! Then, starting 3rd grade, I walked to a different school, on roads with no sidewalks, and it was about a mile away. Couldn't ride the bus because I was "too close". I made a friend and would go by her house and get her and we would walk the last 1/4 mile together. In 3rd grade. Alone. No helo parents following us. We were trusted to make it to school, and back, on our own. 3rd-5th grade, then 6th grade. 7th & 8th grade rode the bus, then walked to 9-12th. That has been lost on several generations. And that is why we are where we are....
